63 Vette powerglide modulator question

I pulled the modulator out and in it was a tube made out of very thin metal about an inch long. Factory, or Mickey Mouse repair by someone? THX

Thats the pushrod, its supposed to be in there.

I expected it to be solid or made out of thicker stock. I mean it's really thin wall. That's why I was wondering if someone lost the orig and moused this one. THX
