confirmation of bad fuel sender?
I was testing my inoperable fuel gauge (pegged to full) using the links from lb fun. My wiring was old and brittle at the sender, but I measure 10.9 volts (low, but enough for operation) at the black/pink and 0 voltage at the tan wire.
LB Fun says it should measure 100 ohms across the S & I terminals with everything disconnected, I get NO reading on several selected scales. Can I stop searching now and conclude I simply have a bad sender based on the above?
Thanks to my more electrically inclined Corvette bretheren, as always

This was mine, the break in the strap was hidden by a sleeve.
This is after being rebuilt.

6T7L71CPE is spot on. If your sender is an original GM unit I recomend John Wolf. He did mine and I am pleased. Hard to find a decent repo.

Thank you all for taking the time to reply. Mine appears to be original, if evidenced only by the float I can barely see matching that of the photo. The car is relatively unmolested and shows 90K odd miles.
Out of curiosity if the repos are bad (I had looked at one from ZIP) what is the ballpark cost of having mine rebuilt, and turnaround time? I try and drive several days per week, kids permitted, and I hate to have it down for very long...

Bad Fuel Sender
Benton...
The repos are not all that bad, I have one in my '64 without any issues. My original is stored away if I choose to have it rebuilt. Paragon has a good one for around $90 part #3794 which will keep you on the road enjoying your ride.
