Switch your bulb sockets on the Cluster...

You might have them plugged into the wrong socket...

By steady, I assume you mean it doesn't blink. If that's the case someone probably just replaced it with a non blinking bulb. Those two lights take special blinking bulbs. I wasn't aware of it myself when I restored my cluster so neither of mine blink but I figure if I can't notice a red light, blinking or not, that's right under my nose and in the center of the dash I probably shouldn't be driving anyway.

In 1966 both the brake warning and headlight warning bulbs blink. It is just the bulbs are wrong. 67 was the first year that brake light stayed on because it is tied into the brake system to show a pressure loss on front or rear of the system.

They both should blink. You need to replace the one that does not blink with a correct blinking bulb. Job done.

That's a bad idea. When you pull on the brake the "lights" will light up and vice versa if you switch the sockets. Do like the others said and put in the correct bulbs if you want them to blink.

Make sure you give the bulb time to warm up. The 257 bulb takes a little bit to warm up before it starts to blink

PIA to get to to fix. They serve the purpose, as-is... I'd leave them alone.

OK Thanks to all Yes I guess the WRONG BULB is in the Haedlight one as scokets are Correct..since both operate with correct Headlight on or Park Brake on so Sockets are correct no need to switch thatd make situation worse...Ill either change BULB or leave alone..I have a zillion other tweaks in front of me. Till later Regards.....
