powerglide advice
I recently reinstalled a working P/G back into my 65 restoration project. I took it for a five mile test drive and it shifted fine. on my second more aggressive test drive it totaly died on me. Nothing works but park! Were do I start checking what could have gone wrong without warning? Vac. line and mechanical shifting is all good. On the lift the wheels move slightly when in gear at 3000 RMP nothing in idle.
could this be a simple fix??
Any suggestions

Sounds like the front pump isn't pressurizing to lose everything (park is mechanical, doesn't need pressure).
Pull down the pan and make sure the screen isn't plugged.

ya did that, I had installed a new screen before I installed it and it is still clean with no sign of any dirt. I suspected it might be the pump. any way of confirming that is the issue before I drop it out? When I installed the drive train the body was off. does the engine need to be pulled to get the trany out now?

If you have to pull and rebuild the PG think seriously about replacing it with a 5 speed manual. Unless you are married to a PG, a 5 speed manual will completely change the character of the car. I did it with mine and I am extremely happy with the results. There are kits out there that do not require any cutting or welding. 5 speed fits as if it was OEM.

depending how aggressive you were with it the input shaft may have snapped between the sealing rings.
