Default My 63 under Air Force One

We had a classic car event at the Reagan Library this past
week, where I volunteer as a docent, giving tours to the Seniors (us),
and the school kids. They only let in about 12 classic cars, and thats
after submitting pictures of your vehicle to the event staff. Got to
park my 63 under the wings of Air Force One. What an honor ! This
plane has 1.3 million miles put on it, and was used by 7 different Presidents. I told them my car didn't leak - - - -I lied.

That is very cool. I have been to the library a couple times and go whenever I'm in the area. During my 22 yrs in the Air Force, I had the privilege of working for President Reagan during my 6 years assigned to the White House Communications Agency ('82-'88). I met him several times and had my picture taken with him a couple times including this one taken at his ranch above Santa Barbara in 1988.

Great pictures and good story. I joined the Army when Reagan was president and now I still work for the Army...Man how times have changed....Our current Commander in Chief is no Reagan, I will tell you that......

Way cool ! I never had the opportunity to meet President Reagan. But I did have the honor of attending his funeral. The Ronald Reagan Presidental Library, here in Simi Valley, Ca, finally put us on the map !

I was just getting ready to leave my WH assignment and a short meeting with President Reagan and this picture had been arranged immediately following his Saturday morning radio address. The problem was the WH photographer was running late driving to the ranch from Santa Barbara. I figured I was out of luck on the photo op, but when Mr Reagan was told of the delay, he said we would wait, so we stood around for almost 20 minutes with him telling us stories. What a great day!

I was out at his ranch a few years back. It was sold to the Young American Foundation, and they are out of Santa Barbara. Its been kept just like it was 30 years ago. Nobody is living up there, but its
maintained if the Reagans left yesterday. You must have some good stories about Pres Reagan and the ranch.

When any of you get out to the Reagan Library, here in Simi Valley, Ca, drop me a "PM" and I'll take you around the exhibits. I live about 60 seconds from it.
