new top on the 62 today
My local upholstery guy got my new AK top installed today, so I just had to share
what a great project this car has been………. I think I'll keep it.

well…… no cruise or BTT50s show for us this year . but we'll be back next year for sure. we do miss it already.
Even just driving around a bit today I did keep the top up, to let it take a set, and I noticed it's sure a lot cooler with it up in mid day sun. it will be nice to have the quick change option now for sure.
Jack. no entry, but I plan to make a solo walk through the show early tomorrow. maybe 9:30 or so. I'll likely drive the 62 if you want to walk up to wherever I find to park
Jeff. I worked on the Bel Air for an hour or two this morning . I got my new detail spray gun, so interior trim paint will fill the air soon.

You'll have to find me and we can go look at your car...I usually hang around my car and wonder around throughout the day, depending on if my knee holds up...

Thanks Mike. the car was a HT only when new, but had a soft top added sometime before 74, which was black cloth. I prefer the hardtop during winter, but wanted the option of a quick top for cold spring mornings or showers and figured the white would be cooler when used as a sun shade in the hot months, which it seems to be.
isn't it amazing how we labor over trivial details on these cars?

I hear what you mean about the white being cooler-try triple black when the temps are in the 90's and some humidity is thrown in! Still enjoy driving it!
Have a great weekend, all.

Does your frame clear the seat corners when it's down?
Russ, that car sure has come a long way since you got it. It's downright bee-u-tee-full now!

That's exactly why I hunted down a frame, cover, and hardware for mine. I call it my emergency top. While I love the look of the top up on the car, I hate driving it with it up. I hit my head on the rails and getting in is hard. :

The car has come a long ways. it was really a struggle at times during the build, but the end result was SO worth any aggravation. I don't every want to sell it now, and won't, for the foreseeable future.
