1960 build sheets?????
So I'm trying to get more info on my 1960 vette that looks like an XP700. How would I go about getting the car checked to see if it was a GM race car?

A very common conversion. Probably a thousand of them out there like that. Its not likely. There are no build sheets for `60s and probably no information to be had from GM.

Looks like a bad 60's 70's custom to me. But there are no build sheets

That's an aftermarket custom XP700 nose made by a company in San Francisco, called Acme Fabrication. They came out with the nose, around 1961, and as wombvette said, they sold thousands of them.
Acme ran ads in every car magazine in the early 60's (Hot Rod, Car Craft, Rod & Custom, etc.), for that nose. I'm sorry, but that car was never a GM race or show car.

Here's a link to the ad for that nose, that Acme ran, back in the 60's.

I don't see where the fiberglass patch was to connect that nose. DO you know where is would connect to so I can see. in the engine bay up there is no sign of it being a clip.

The nose came complete, from door to door. How much of the nose was used, was left to the preference of the installer. I've seen examples where the whole nose was used, and ones where just the nose from the wheel openning center line forward, was used.
Here is an article from a 1963 publication put out by Peterson Publishing/Hot Rod Magazine, with articals about modifying Corvettes. It is a pocket size publication called Custom Corvettes, and included an article on how to install the Acme XP700 nose, on an early Corvette.

Ok, that covered the question. I see from photo this Corvette has a big tank and can be Possible having other rare RPO performance options that should be seriously looked into before passing judgment as a over the counter mod only car...... I'm just saying!
Thirty years ago, a Corvette enthusiast found a C-2 that appeared to be modified. Muffler side pipes hung outside of body ( a real eye sore) anyhow he purchased this C-2 for a song & a dance. After mocking aftermarket ugly mods, found that it was a rare Corvette worth 200 times what he purchased for. Word of advice, assume nothing, keep everything, and read everything, talk to experts (NCRS) before doing anything drastic!
