Default best riding tires

I am looking for some feedback on great radials for my 66 big block. I currently have 205-70-15 Michelin, what is the difference in the tire size-215-75-15? I heard Pirelli tires are good, but some sizes rub the fender wheel well? I NEED SOME HELP. thanks, Dutch

Welcome to the CF. Go to Tire Rack and they have a comparison feature for tires. You can see one matched to the other not only in dimensions, but other characteristics. Do you have stock steel wheels or something else? Dennis

The 215/75R15 is going to be taller by about an 1 1/2", while only being about a half inch narrower.

A 205/70R15 is roughly 26" tall, and has a tread width of about 6". The 215/75R15 is about 27 1/2" diameter and has a tread width of 6 1/2". The dimensions can vary slightly, from manufacturer to manufacturer, but most tires of a certain size, are within fractions of an inch of each other.

The original tire on your 66 was a 775-15. Most people chose the P215/75R15, as the modern equivalent radial size, to use in place of the 775-15.

I think you mean to say wider, not narrower.
