Default Does a 57 door = 60 Door?

I'm looking for a 1960 drivers door and a friend came across someone selling a 1956/57 door. I know 60's are different from 61's which are different from 62's, but would a 57 work for a 60?

thank you,
Jay

OK, I'll bite..... what's different and what's so different that it couldn't be made to work?

The location of the inside door release moved in 1958.

It will bolt in and work, but the door panel opening for the inside release handle will be different.

And if the '57 door is off of VIN #4000 or earlier, it won't have any steel reinforcements in the door, and they're unobtainium these days.

Arm rest mounting is way different, you could make it work but it just isn't worth the effort. Get the correct door and keep it simple.

Thanks for the responses, I'm in the JRM5657 school of thought as well.

Geometry is the same. The rest is easy to make work.

I think the 60 door is longer slightly. I know that the end caps are different lengths from 58 to 60.

61-62 are longer but the 56-60 is the same overall geometry.
