My SWC
I know this isn't everyone's cup of tea, but I've wanted a 63 Pro Street SWC for as long as I can remember.
In 2005 I was able to get one, and now it's getting a facelift and going back on the street.
These are some pictures of when I was racing it, and where it is now.
Me making an 1/8th mile pass.
Now I'm putting it back on the street with a pump gas 496" 6-71 motor.
And getting a paint job and new look.
I'm probably going with the 82 Corvette paint code 40. Silvergreen.

The car was cut up very many years ago. It was an old grudge/street race car in the Carolinas.
I have very few of the original parts, if any??
When I was looking for a race car, I wanted a C2 so that I wouldn't be just another Camaro or Mustang in the staging lanes at the track.
Now that it's cut up, it's only worth what someone is willing to pay for it, and I felt like I did ok on the rolling chassis at the time, so I jumped on it. It's too far from original to be cost effective to restore, so I am just using it for what I want now, a cool street car with a piece of Corvette history. It has the VIN number and I have a title, so I still consider it a SWC, altho not even close to pure.
As an hourly grunt at a plant, it allows me to have a street/race car, AND a split window.

That car is so cool. I am really enjoying the whole NCRS/Bloomington Gold/show route I am on with my 63 but I would love a resto mod or pro street classic (especially another 63 SWC or maybe a C1) to drive and enjoy. Keep posting details and pics for us to enjoy. Chris

My son has a 63 Cp FI car and did not want to cut that one up so he bought another SWC to build another Roadster Shop resto mod he is selling a lot of the original parts, if it is as nice as his 63 convertible resto mod it will be supper. You need to build them the way you want.

Thanks guys.
I didn't buy the car for an investment, so whatever I do to it, it'll satisfy ME.
The car isn't for sale, so no worries on losing money on it.
I'll keep the thread updated for anyone interested, but my painter has a history of being slow, so updates may be far between. See y'all soon, I hope.

At least it was already cut up. They were just cars back in the day. Now if someone did that to one today, they would need their head examined.
I still think I would tear the cage out of it and turn it into a clean fast street car but obivously it's not mine. It'll be cool regardless of how it's built!

Yes. It was probably built in the 80s, I'm guessing. It was just another Vette to some people.
The car went an 8.74 @ 155mph with a crate LS7 that I had balanced, heads ported, a roller cam and a 300HP plate system.
That was with the stock 990 heads ported and all stock Chevrolet internals, at 3,100 pounds. That was about 950 hp
This engine is a 496" with aluminum heads and a 6-71 blower. I'm going with 2, non adjustable plates at 125hp each, so I'm thinking it will have a good solid 1,000 hp.
It should make for a pretty fast street car. I'm leaving the roll cage simply for the safety aspect. It's gonna be a pain getting in and out tho.
This car will only have an altinator. No P/S, P/B, or A./C, so it'll get limited street time in South East Texas. It gets plenty HOT down here.
I just picked up a 70 model that I will be doing my "cruising" in.
