To me, that is the way that I would like to buy a car that I would wish to restore.
In my opinion it is in good shape. The most important thing is to list all of the parts that are missing. Don't remove the engine, It will not help the sale.
Don't attempt to make it look good. Don't even wash it! Any work done on it would tend to be an indication that you are trying to hide something from a potential buyer. You could put $20,000 of repairs into it and it would only lower the value of it.
Some one with limited funds could put $20,000 into it and have a driver that would make him happier than a pig in $h!^.
This car has the potential to be what ever someone wants it to be, whether he wants a driver or a show car, let him decide.

Sadly, the only real question I'll have ultimately is:
How much is this worth?
And, whom is interested in buying?
For a long time it's been a dream of mine to fix this car up for my Dad. But I don't see it happening any time soon due to lack of time and funds. We just feel that there are people out there who can get this car to it's potential. So I'm educating myself. If we sell, we want to sell to the right buyer for the right price. There is a sentimental attachment, and the thought of it going to the right owner is something we're keeping in mind. And the other issue is the amount of time and expense in storing this vehicle for so many years, so the right selling price would help with that sentiment as well.
Thanks for the help and please, keep the dialogue going. This is great.

Tough for your dad to let go of his youth, and liquidate that old girl, but she does need a complete makeover and a new party dress.
Please let us know what happens to the car and what you got for it if you wouldn't mind. Thanks.

Help this 1954 Corvette Get the Restoration it Deserves
There are certainly a number of ways to make an entrance into a room. You could barge in, which will likely **** a lot of people off; you could sneak in, but that's a total creep move, and then you could approach it like a new member did on the forum by posting info on a 1954 Corvette as a potential restoration project, which is sure to pique the interest of more than a few people in a room full of Corvette addicts.
The new member, who goes by "D-54Vette", notes in the thread that this car has been in his family for 40 years.

We have the side curtains and jack. The radio turned up missing from storage several years ago. No hubcaps that we can find. Not sure if the pictures shown are the air cleaner bullets you were referring to. I don't think we have the ignition shielding either. Or at least, I'm not sure what it would look like.
