Default Need a refresher course on installing door glass

It's been a while since i installed door glass in a coupe and I need a breakdown of the order of installation before i begin installing the components.

If i remember correctly, the procedure should be:

1. install the felts that sit inside the rear and upper channel with the rear track first.

2. Install the track

3. Install the vent window

4. install the door glass

5. and finally install the window wipes and inner felts

Or does the door glass go in first then the vent window?

Thanks!

That's the only way I've ever done it. I have the side glass OFF the regulator horizontal track and sitting down in the bottom of the door. Two LONG pieces of duct tape on the glass vertically act as temporary handles to raise and lower it (a Mike Coletta trick). With the glass all the way to the rear you can 'stab' the vent window/front track ***'y. Then put the vent window regulator on, install the outboard horizontal felt/garnish strip, raise the side glass into the front vent window track, install it on the rail and bolt to the regulator. THEN you can put the back channel in by tipping it upwards and pushing the bottom rearward.

Then adjust the side window front track and rear tracks and that part is done

You can install the window first, but leave the rear vertical track until last. That allows you to move the window slightly aft, to install the vent window assy. You also have to pop out the forward section of the upper fuzzy and let it hang down. This lets you get the vent window assy slid into place at the top.

Final piece to go in is the rear vertical track.

Outer wipe should go in before any of the above IIRC.

That does it dammit.

When are one of these smart vendors (Wilcox mebbe) going to offer to take all of David's stuff and put it on CD-ROM for sale ?? Everybody wins, the stuff is all in one place and David isn't spending all his time burning CDs himself...and gets a check...

Anyone ?
