Most "sought after color?"
#21
I think "popular" colors run consistent with the number of the colors produced. As for me when I found my SWC i wasn't in love with the color Silver Blue when I saw it but loved rest of the car. After showing the car I was complemented on the color and a lot of Corvette owners say they don't see many in that factory color and they love it. Bottom line is as hard as it is to find a nice SWC that doesn't need work on it as long as the paint is in good condition I believe any factory color combo is not that big of factor. As hard as they are to find now, just think in 10 more years how much more difficult it will be to find one no matter what color. Buy one for condition and not so much for the color unless your wallet allows you to wait for just the perfect combo..just my 2 cents worth.
I might add that I love my Silver Blue with dark blue int.

I don't really care about the color for new cars; we are talking sought after colors for vintage Corvettes. I have a slate gray Tundra truck - love the color; not on a C2 though.
Anyway, I don't understand the penchant for black cars. I know others are ga-ga over them -- they do nothing for me. I'd almost rather have white...almost!!

When I was looking to buy my C1 there was only one colour for the interior Red, as for exterior Red & White coves was my preference. But white was a possible 2nd choice.
But I got exactly what I wanted Red/Red/White

I love to look at a nicely waxed black car or any other dark-colored car for that matter, but I know how much work it is to keep a dark-colored car, especially black, looking nice. So when I was looking for a car, I looked for a light color so I wouldn't go nuts keeping it nice. I ended up with a white car (doesn't get any lighter than that). But, it had a teal interior which took me by surprise. I didn't think it was a factory color so I had to look it up. It is a factory color for '67 cars but it must not have been very popular.

Saddle Tan with saddle tan interior has been my favorite for decades, also the rarest original '63 exterior color AIR. My convertible was red/silver, now red/tan, but a ST/st SWC is on my bucket list.

Heck, I wasn't a huge fan of red cars until my wife dragged home a 2012 Crystal Red GS. Very pretty car. So I'm a big fan of red now.

I have a black on black car and I think they are great as long as someone else owns them. Too much work. I also have a Mossport green and it just never looks dirty. I can't believe no one picked Daytona blue with red interior!!!

I'm seriously thinking about that color combo for my 66 vert, but I understand that Daytona Blue can't be replicated with current base/clearcoat paints so I may need to find a suitable B/C blue. Something like Lexus Indigo Ink Pearl.
