Default Antenna question

Due to the use of a lift in my garage I need an antenna for my 64 that pretty fully retracts or is removable. While reading from search it seems the room under the antenna is the problem with a manual fully retracting antenna? And since I do not want an electric one will a 67 manual antenna do the job? It looks like I could unscrew the mast on a 67? Do I need the 67 ground plates?? Thanks!

There's room under the fender for an antenna to retract into its housing. I'd add one that retracted before I added a non stock one that had to be unscrewed every time. I assume your lift must push the windshield area up into a cut out? Otherwise, the antenna wouldn't stick up enough to be a problem on a lift. The windshield is higher than the correct antenna height when retracted.

Correct, I have a "hat" in my 10' ceilings for the roof to go into. Not looking I barely bent the bad antenna currently on it Any suggestions as to where to look? CC had one but they have discontinued it.

I was thinking about a universal type replacement. I'm not sure who makes one that replaces the original, yet goes all the way down. I know the 63,64 had a manual antenna, but I don't know if it pushed all the way down, or if the connector is the same for the cable. I know it's been done many times, hopefully someone who has actually replaced one that fits your needs will help.

Here's an idea: Cut a hole in the ceiling for the antenna to go up into also?

I think it may be a Hirschmann similar to a PA-03 for size. But mine included a booster and the cord was longer.

Okay, headed to JC Whitney for a cheap manual antenna, although the hole in the ceiling is tempting. We will see what I find after dinner?

I found a Hirschmann on Ebay that should work but now I need to know what kind of connection does the stock cable use to the antenna? These are all the single pin push-in type male outlet from the antenna.
