Default How many holes in a bare firewall?

I'm still looking at places where engine compartment smells are coming into the car. I do have the hood seal.

I see whoever replaced my tach cable didn't put the grommet back in, a pretty good sized hole and maybe the biggest single source of fume entry! Other than that, I see my oil line grommet is missing, and the e-brake cable has a smaller open hole, as well as the hood release. Yes, I'm piling up examples... My bulkhead electrical is all in place...

Does anyone have a good clear picture of a bare firewall that shows all the potential openings? Is it safe to say that there aren't many on the passenger side except the heater box? None right behind the bellhousing?

Thanks, guys! I may not be on forum except on mobile until tomorrow...

Don't have a clue what year car you have but if you have a 63-67 this diagram from Buns should help

You are welcome. In this instance I searched "firewall buns" because I knew forum member Buns had posted a photo in the past. Otherwise I never would have found it.

Also a big thank you to Steve & JohnZ! I have a much clearer picture now than when I am staring past everything assembled!

Sometimes bubba reminds me of... Me. (Slight Tombstone reference) my large tach grommet was not pushed in place but hanging on the tach cable because- you'd never guess- Bubba ran the FLAPS manual choke cable through the large hole. Fixed that big one! Except now I have no choke...good thing it's Spring in the South and I can fix in a bit...
