Default Remaining early 55's

I'm kicking around the idea of selling the 55 (006) and to come up with an honest price for it. (nice topflight) I'm trying to figure out where it stands as far as how many are left. The C1 Registry has 001 and 002 listed. That leaves 003, 004 and 005 either hidden away or non existent. On the C1 Reg. 002 stated that 001 was destroyed.

Does anyone have any knowledge of the missing cars?
thanks bob

I have been looking for a real 55 for a long time but most are made up parts Corvettes. There are not that many 55's & fewer for sale. I have seen prices from 50,000 to 100,000 +. If you decide what you would want for yours please let me know. also would live to talk to you about the car. My email is kbarry44@hotmail.com Phone 260 927 6891

#006 is a neat car, Bob. I enjoyed looking it over at the Suisun NCRS event.

I've been offering you a couple of hundred dollars for years and but now that the car made top flight I'll bring my offer up $200.00 more because my 55 needs company.

first of all, 55 #1 still exist and is restored. my 55 spent 3 days in a trailer with 55,56,57 #1s a few years back returning from Bloomington.
there are a large number of 55s that exist, but are rarely seen. very early and very late cars are more noticeable. out of the first 15 cars number 11 is the only one unaccounted for. same holds true for the very late cars. number 3 was displayed at the park city convention in feb 2005 and has a Bloomington gold award, number 4 as of 11/2010 had the same owner as the 55, 56, 57 #1 cars and can be found doing a vin search. number 5 has appeared for sale several times over the past years and is said to have a long race history. it might still have a race car appearance. 7,8 and 9 have been restored. 9 being a red car with bloomington and top flight awards.

From the comments from the other posters that I trust that know what the hell they are talking about it must be a super55. Maybe you can put a # on it & put it on the NCRS for sale site & see what happens..

The first (or earliest surviving) '53 is the most valuable of all the slab-side C1s produced. So I'd think the LAST screened headlight 'Vette, produced in 1955, would be more valuable than the first '55, especially if it was a rare original V-8.

Remember the last '67 saga?

the big difference with the first 55 was that it was the first production line V8 corvette. the added value in the last 55 is the 3-speed.

Default 55

Thanks guys for all the great comments. Jim it was great having dinner with you guys and all the conversation about the old SCCA days. Roy you need to buy it and paint it copper..........

I figure I should ask $134,00 and end up taking about $110,000. Then offer to sell my truck and enclosed trailer for another $30,000. What a package.
