Suddenly I cannot shift into reverse with my four speed transmission in my 1957 Corvette. All four of the forward gears work. What is the likely problem? Thanks.

The first thing you may want to do is get under the car while someone works the shift lever (with the engine off, of course). I had my '57 four speed "hang up" once in a while and needed a little adjustment on the linkage.

With the engine running or with the engine off?? Or both??
