Default kick down likage

I have an ajustable kick down linkage probably not original, however, it has been working fine but came loose and slipped, I just need to know where it attaches to the transmission what position should the lever be in, should it be in the middle all the way back towards the rear or all the way up toward the engine. I just need to reattach it and tighten it back. Any help is appreciated.

Good info on adjusting the kick down linkage in this link.

Basically, with the carb linkage open all the way, you pull the powerglide detent lever all the way forward (overcoming the spring tension) and insert the rod.
