Are these legitimate transmission stampings?

Also forgot to mention, if you look really closely in person, there is a "6" UNDER the S in the vin set of numbers. It just looks like the s was misaligned. And, why would the S be a different "style" of lettering?? Please, any info/thoughts?

The correct VIN derivative stamping for a '66 would be 6S104528; it's different than the engine pad VIN stamp.

John, what's your opinion of the pictures I posted the link too? Why would the "S" be a different style of letter (actually matches the P1025 stamp letter type)? Restamp?

Dunno, but it doesn't look "typical".

The good news is that NCRS doesn't check for matching number transmission cases, so I wouldn't stress it too much! However, i agree with John, the stamping doesn't look typical.

Thanks for your input. So your saying that it shouldn't hurt any judging marks from NCRS? That would be nice if so.

Nope, not a judging issue - transmission and axle "numbers" aren't examined in Flight Judging - only configuration that can be seen while lying on your back.
