Default Sparkplug wire set for BB with headers?

What is a good spark plug wire set for a 396 BB with headers.
The current set has straight plug boots which get burned by the headers.
Should I go for the 90 degree or 135, 8 or 8.5 mm wires.
There are so many sets available on the market.

My car has the standard ignition.

I use the 135* boots and don't have any problems.

Wire size is a personal preference and other factors come into play.

In my situation the wire size was determined by the wire looms I wanted to use.

Good wires should be rated by the lowest ohm resistance per foot. Dennis

Default I prefer the first...{cleaner}

The best way is down the back up under the headers...it also makes the engine department cleaner without wires dangling or tricky wire looms that everyone uses

The normal way which is subject to burn is, and looks as bad an the wire looms

True, but that should be qualified to mean, "other than solid copper core wires." Those of course have the lowest resistance per foot, but they will do lots of damage to your ignition system. Points will burn out early, electronic ignition modules will get fried, and if you use the braided shields from a reproduction or an original wire set, so much current will be induced in the shields that it may actually drain power from the inner conductor because of back-induced current caused by the current induced in the shield.

If you want to use your AM radio, you can buy an undated repro set of 67 wires and use the braided shields on your new wires. You'll have to use 67 wires because these have ends that slip under the valve cover bolts; 65 and 66 wires clip to spark plug heat shields, which you can't use with headers.
