How Old Are You?

I am 46, and was wrenching on the 67 vette the last three nights from 9pm-10pm when wife and 4 kids went to bed. Was 14 when I bought my first car 1957 Chevy Belair, pulled motor wrecked my parents white carpet in house. Did it again at 17 with a 69 442 and at 19 with a 73 L82 Vette. Dad told me sell all these damn cars , settle down- get married and when I do he will give me the 67. Gave it to me when I was 35. Will pass mine down to either my 13 year old (who likes to go for a ride but never help wrenching wise) or my 3 year old (who eats/sleeps and eat corvette) sons when they turn 35. Will buy a C3,C6 in future to pass that down to other one.

It would have looked like this:http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c1-a...es-change.html
and average age has turned completely around
I think you guys are holding on to your used cars to long

I bought my first brand new Corvette ('78) when I was 27. Kept it for about a year, but was so disappointed with lack of power that I sold it and bought my '64, that I've now owned for some 35 years now.
I celebrated the 27th, 35th Birthday last November.
Dang it son, time sure fly's when you get old.

I bought my 67 in 1974 at age 27 for $500. Now, 40 years later I'm 67 and the car is worth a lot more than $500 !!!

44 here. Bought my first vette in 2003 when I got back from Iraq.
Had Camaros prior to that...But grew up with vettes in the family. Dad was a vette die hard and I was almost born in a 62.
Learned to drive a stick in a 78 PC.
Bought my 03 in 2003, My 04 Zo6 Lemans Comm. in 07. 78 Pace Car in 2012.
Bought my 63 in 2011, and my current 09 Z06 last December. Ive had at least two corvettes in the garage pretty reguarly since '12....

I'm 65 except when I'm involved with my '62 Corvette! Whether it's driving, wrenching or just gazing at it I'm time warped back to my 20's or even further back to my earliest memories of my first ride in it in summer 1962 at age 13. I bought it in 1969 at age 20 from my cousin and I guess it has become a part of me over the last 40+ years.

Unfortunately I'm in the wrong forum, but maybe one day I can trade up to a mid year coupe. Grew up with a basket case split window in the garage. Still the coolest car we ever had and it never moved an inch in 10 years. My 72 is one alignment away from getting back on the road for the first time since the 80's. Had it since 06. I'm 37, and with one on the way I figured I better get it done now because I was the kid in the oft told story of how a restoration never got done because of a kid.
