Default Tire/Rim Math Problem~ Wrong Rims, Can I use Adapters?

Ok I just bought a 66 Ragtop and hate the tire /rims on it. I want to switch them to Summit Racing Legend 5 Series Chrome Wheels.

The problem: I bought 2 of these rims used, like new (Can't return them) and they are the wrong bolt pattern. Yeah my friend said they would fit, they don't.

Specs:
Product Line:Summit Racing® Legend 5 Series Chrome Wheels

Wheel Width (in):8.000 in.
Wheel Material:Aluminum
Backspacing (in):4.500 in.
Offset:0.00mm
Wheel Construction:1-piece

Beadlock Included:No
Lug Nut Seat Style:Conical seat - 60 degree
Center Bore Diameter (in):3.268 in.
Center Bore Diameter (mm):83.00mm
Center Cap Included:Yes
Load Rating (lbs):2,100 lbs.
Wheel Bolt Pattern:5 x 4 1/2 in.Brand:Summit Racing
Manufacturer's Part Number:SUM-141-5865C0

Can I make these work with these adapters on FleaBay:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/251399997003?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
Wheel Spacers Details:

5x4.75 Vehicle Bolt Pattern
5x4.5 Wheel Bolt Pattern
12x1.5 Wheel Studs
1" Thick
Includes Open Ended Lug Nuts to install wheels to Spacers
87.1mm Center Bore
6061 T6 Billet Aluminum
Pressed-in Studs Included

Will these work? Will I have disc brake clearance and wheel well clearance?
Thanks guys!

You'll have lots of disk brake clearance and virtually no fender clearance, and that's only if the wheel lugs aren't so long they interfer with the wheel (stick out beyond the adaptor)..

The wheels you bought are already on the brink of not working with stock fenders. I think adding an inch is impossible. Perhaps you can, but I don't know of anyone who runs 8" rims on stock fenders. The 4.5 backspace will almost surely hit the e-brake cable mount. Mine is like 1/16" away with 4" backspace. This is what an 8" rim with 4" backspace AND small flares looks like:

Doesn't matter what kind of adapters you use to deal with the wrong bolt pattern - those wheels aren't going to work on your car; they're too wide, and will tear up your fenders and quarters even if you didn't have the spacers. Put the wheels on Craigslist.

So the answer is 7" rims (Legend 5 Series Chrome Wheels) with the correct bolt pattern?
I did try reselling these on Craigs. No luck thats why I was hoping I could salvage them. I don't have flares and don't want them.

I do want some kind of 15" rim mag wheels in the spirit of the Cragar SS rims. I don't like over sized rims. Suggestions?

3 3/4 or 4" Backspace is all you can squeeze. 7" rims are workable with the correct backspacing and tire. 8" is too big...impossible with those spacers.

Why not go 17" or 18"? Youll fit a bigger combo without worry about hitting the rear spring...

Went to tirerack.com to see what they say will fit the 66. They are saying:
American Racing Authentic Hot Rod VN515 Torq Thrust II 1 PC
American Racing Authentic Hot Rod VN105 Torq-Thrust D
both recommending a 205/75-15

Now Ive already bought a pair of 215/70R15 white raised letters.

Can anyone confirm these rims and tires above will fit. I was going to go with 215/65R15 in the front…

Help? Pics of these on the car?

Those should work fine.

Assuming you are selecting a 6" or 7" wide wheel with 3.75" or 4" back space........

So 4" Backspace is better right?
