I'm assuming they're getting their wheels from Virginia Vettes since they say they'll ship from their Virginia supplier.

Good point... Ive needed a couple odd parts for my '63 that needed to be used originals, not repros, and I've been very lucky posting WTB ads in the Parts section.

Same here. The repro C2 headliner has to be the crappiest part I've ever seen versus the original. It is made of totally different material which is much heavier and is nothing like the original. Mine delaminated just like the one in Frankie's pic above so I had an original one dyed to match my red interior. One would think Corvette America would get the message and quit making this POS part!
I guess CC is willing to lose a long term customer over a couple hundred bucks So be it.

Why do you guys buy parts from the middle man??

I'll admit, that a lot of the time I don't know who's on the other side of that 'Middle' man. At least not until after you receive a part from one vendor with another vendors paper work, shipping box, etc....
If you have a list of who / where each part is made, I for one would love to go directly to the 'Manufacture' man of it.
So please, post it here.

In most businesses including Corvette parts the manufacturer uses distributors to reach a larger number of buyers then is practical for the manufacturer to get to.
The distributors are the marketing arm used by the manufacturer.
Therefore in many cases (should be most cases) if you contact the manufacturer his prices are higher then the majority of the resellers.

I wish I could tell you with certainty that one of the problems with the price of US manufactured goods is the high cost due to too many middle men.
A lot of the Aisian goods that are sold here don't have all those layers of onlookers that do nothing but pass the goods from their hands to someone elses and thus can cut our pricing.
Can't prove it, just believe it! Corvette repop parts exempted of course because the vendors know many owners will pay a big price for a crappy part.

Who make it?
1964 Horns:
$149.00 from Corvette Central
$150.00 from Paragon
$150.00 from Keen Parts
$159.99 from Corvette America
All the same. Marked Delco Made in USA.
Who makes them?
Bt the way they are NOT made in USA.
I should have said "who imports them?"

Actually, shipping from China isn't so bad: about $3600 for a 20' container that holds nearly 1000 cubic feet of cargo. A 40' container holds twice as much but costs only about 50% more than a 20-footer.

I didn't - bought the headliner as part of an interior package from Corvette America who makes most interior parts like Al Knoch. It makes you mad since I'm sure there are many others who had issues with it and complaind other then just Frankie and I!

Virginia Vettes
I ordered a teakwood steering wheel from them via their eBay listing and after 5 days I sent them a message inquiring as to when they would be shipping it. Sent a second eBay message again tonight.
I'd also sent them messages via eBay inquiring about other listings of theirs. Zero replies so far. Whoever is running their eBay sales is doing a ****-poor job.
What's their problem? Anyone else have such experiences with Virginia Vettes?
