Default Late Muncie in early C-2

The trans in it now has stud mnts for the 3 shift levers and I want to put a later Muncie with bolt mnt shift levers which has that odd shaped hole a bit larger. Does someone make the 3 levers to keep the original shifter with the later trans? THX

OK, I'll bite, what's OG????
I'm sure this is a result of the abreviated form of communication when people use texting--------------------but I don't text, therefore, I don't recognize all the shortened words.

I don't text, but OG to me is short for original

The change from shafts with studs to shafts with threaded holes was 1969.
If you could locate shift levers for a factory 69-72 shifter, that would probably work for you.
Another option might be to order the 3 levers from hurst for a 69-72 Muncie.
Last, If you have BOTH trannys, you could always just swap the side cover from your tranny to the later Muncie which would permit using your original shifter and levers.

True, but that still leaves reverse to deal with. My guess is somewhere the levers are available, or it may be as simple as using the levers off a C3(?)

You have to be careful. OG is street slang for "Original Gangsta"...off an early rap album by Ice-T -- means an older gang-banger.

Sorry, had a flashback from my days at the Dept of Justice...

Word of caution: from Chevrolet 1969 New Product Training Program Booklet (Aug '68).

(quote) Four speed Muncie: there will be new shifter shaft assemblies similar to the present Saginaw models. The shafts have a threaded hole instead of the threaded stud used in prior years. The inner levers will be made of sintered iron in comparison to the presently used cast iron type. The shaft holes in the cover are .002 inches larger to provide clearance for the new shafts. Service will be affected in that the present shifter shaft assembly could be used with the new cover; however, the new shafts could not be used with the present cover (end quote).
