OK, so what C2s are undervalued
The recent thread on the search for a decent 63 coupe that isn't priced like it was gold (yes, that is a pun) got me thinking.
63 coupes are seriously overpriced right now.
So, what C2 is undervalued in the current market.
I don't pay a lot of attention to C2s, but I am going to take a guess and say that the best bargains (if there is such a thing) right now is the 64 coupe.
It is like the unwanted stepchild to the 63, but it has a number of improvements over the first year C2. In addition, it could be had with factory knock offs. A 64 365hp coupe, 4 speed, with lots of nice comfort options sounds like a bargain compared to a so-so 63 coupe.
If you really want a 63 coupe look, put a split window in a 64 coupe and call it a 63 1/2 coupe.
Thoughts?

2015 C2 of Year Finalist
No you going and done it. You hurt all the feelings of all the 64 owners. This topic comes up all the time and never ends well. But yes it's been proven over the years that any 64 is the bargain of mid years

I'm not so sure SWCs are over priced now...but I'm in a 'sweet spot' with mine so I don't care. But if numbers for vanilla SWCs are climbing towards the $100K mark ("docent" just looked at a junker for $95K) I think I would just commission paulwannafly to make me a '67 split window like the one he sold (and the new owner promptly wrecked).
What a stupendous car ...
Short of SWCs and 'real deal' BB later C2s; I've seen good buys out there and many from forum members. I nearly bought a 64 coupe from a forum member local to me at a fair price and looked hard (I mean getting on an airplane hard) at a 67 from a forum member in Texas. But held off for my SWC

Shhhhhhh!!!!!
The best kept secret of the Mid-years is the 1964... they have a special club though...
Seriously though. Both flavors (Convertible and Coupe) probably do represent the best value. 63 Convertibles are often overlooked too... but they do have a lot of the 63 only parts that make em a bit pricier.

LOVE the shirt, Revfan.
As for the 64, I like being the underdog. In my particular case, I found out (after I bought it) that I have a 64 with a 63 frame so I guess I have the best of both worlds....

Good decision - Chevrolet also decided a C2 coupe looked better without the shiny A-pillars.
Bad decision - "Improving" on the gorgeous '63 wheelcovers.

Ed,
When you get around to refurbing the four door '56 Bel Air, maybe you could give some thought to adding a split rear window to that car to add value?

a 365hp is not a 'comfort option' (if that is what you are looking for) . Low end torque/power is absent, so you will mostly be driving at high rpm/noise
I have a 64 in 'body off' works. Drove it before taking it apart and did not like the feel of the 365, but that is a matter of taste
