Impossible parts to find?
What solid axle parts are impossible to find in good condition or in reproduction? I'm considering reproducing impossible to find parts.

There have been a number of wide wheel replicas made over the years. Some were made out of late 40's Mercury wheel outers and chevy centers.
Another option was to use 5 1/2 inch wide 6 lug truck wheels with 5 lug chevy centers.
Safety is, or course, a primary concern.

A couple of suggestions that should not be too hard to work....
Early 1956 distributor oiling tubes. These oiling tubes were used on the 1110872 distributors. The oiling tube for this distributor bends BACK and comes up BEHIND the ignition shielding.
The later 1110879 (56 only) and 1110891 distributors use an oiling tube that bends FORWARD and comes up in FRONT of the ignition shielding.
Another suggestion would be 1956 3 bolt exhaust manifold heat riser.
This part is used on late 56 only 3 bolt ram horn exhaust manifolds.
You would need parts from the 56 passenger car two bolt heat risers.
I have samples of both of these parts.

I am picking up parts to build a 1957 and have found complete windshields with frames at several venders including Corvette Central. I had to search long and hard for the stainless trim that fits behind the seats and still haven't found the small sections right behind the doors.
The speedometer is another problem area and if someone has a case they can get it rebuilt and modified by Classic Instruments.
The seat trim should be fairly easy to reproduce and with good originals selling for about $500.00 per set they must be in high demand.

Side door molding/trim. Especially next to the gullwing and behind the doors of the 53-55. The rest I have been able to find but nothing on the side of the car.
