Default 1961 window regulator install torture-frustration

Installing new manual window regulators on my 1961, of course I am stuck with the install of the new one following a several hour adventure with removal.

Whats the trick?

John,
The really should go in pretty easy, it's the power ones that are tough. Do you have the front window track out??? That means the post has to come off. Sometimes you can just flop it to one side (after the post is out), but it's easier just to take it out completely. If you're trying to get that regulator past that thing......well, it probably isn't going to happen.

It came out with the front window track in, but now that you mention it, makes sense that the front window track should be removed.

Is that just held in with the two bolts one that bolts to the door fiberglass at the top and the one on the inside that bolts to the steel support inside the door?

Does is stay in one piece with the crome window post?

You'll have to remove the garnish and reveal moldings to take the post out of the door. The only thing holding it after that is the adjustment screw at the bottom. You'll have to pull it down, and off of the front window roller. Make sure that you get the roller back in the track when you reinstall it.
