Is the battery really bad? Even after 5 weeks of sitting waiting for the transport it started. I primed the carb first, but it fired right up. Did you check the connections? That Truck driver was trying to disconnect the battery after he loaded it, but he said it wouldn't come off.

after driving the car and waiting just a few minutes , it won't turn the engine over .
i then charge the battery completely , it fires right up , i drive it . Wait a few minutes . Try and start the car and it won't turn over.
i already have the old battery out of the car.

You have a bad cell in the battery. Take to auto store and they will confirm. Just happened to me.

The new optima batteries are junk. I have one in my C5 and I am still fighting it. It's under warranty but I still can't get it replaced.
The nice thing about the C2 is they don't have near the battery load so something more simple is fine. Or if you want the best get an Odyssy

I've had the restoration battery in my 64 for 3+ years and it has never failed to start and never discharged even though the car is rarely driven. The only problem I can see is the cost.
I've got a Delco in my 67. No problems with that either.

I use an Optoma Yellow Top (Deep Cycle) in the'64 because it sits for long periods. The stock hold down does't fit them and you will need to make an "interference piece(s)" or change to a different hold down. I found a nice polished aluminum piece marketed to the Tri-Five group.
