Default 1958 motor

hello everybody
Can someone give me an idea of when the motor for my 1958 corvette was made???
Is it typically assembled the year before?
I have a November build date on my corvette....So would the date code on the motor be approx OCT of 57 ???
Thank you

A year before is too long. 6 Months is usually the max.

Whats the block number of the engine? A 1957 block number will be 3731548.

A 1958 block number would be 3737739 or 3756519.

It doesnt matter what the date is if you use a 548 block.

Example of '58 block number:

I believe production started October 1957 for the 58 model year.
When you said your car was a november built car I assumed it was November 57, correct?
your V.I.N number would be somewhere around 600 to 1400.

its a 1958 corvette, and from what I recall, the gentleman that first intrepreted some of the numbers said it was a Nov production car per some number he read or saw on the car or VIN.

Where would it tell me the month of the actual cars production date?

So the birthdate is Nov 21, 1957

That means that the above block and date are perfect for the car being that the code on the block is J 77.....OCT, 7, 1957
Correct?
