Bogus. Those tires were made after 1968, and before 1971.

The Department of Transportation (DOT) was established by an act of Congress, signed into law by President Lyndon B. Johnson on October 15, 1966.

Default DOT or not

My 68 with 13k original miles 100pct unrestored with the original Firestone Wide Ovals and dated rims still on car were NON Dot. The vette was built early Jan. 1968. I guess GM was still using this type tire in early 68.
