Sometimes it's the Little Things.....
I worked pretty hard to get the original clock in my '67 functioning-----and here recently the one in my father's '64. Toothpicks, contact cleaner, light oil. Even needed another solenoid (used one out of a '64 T-bird).
Makes me smile when I hear the familiar "thunk" of the clock periodically rewinding. Seems like that sound was in about every car back then.
Not a big deal I guess---but neat.

Nice, but not sure what the "thunk" sounds like. Mine hasn't worked for as long as I can remember. Then again, when it's a beautiful day out, I don't want to be reminded what time it is and just want to drive all day...

If you watch the Wheeler Dealer episode with the '64, Ed takes the non-functional clock apart and actually shows how the solonoid mechanism works and fixes it.
