Perhaps someone will take the time to post a wiki entry on it, and that will settle the matter for you.
Could you show us some reference from GM that agrees with this?

If you're referring to my Avatar, she's just a puppy. We're hoping she'll turn into a dog one day. But my Corvette convertible will never turn into a Vette vert <LOL>.

If my 65 has synthetic oil, radial tires, and pertronix ignition, do my numbers still match and did those changes result in the car being restored?

Absolutely not, but then I don't need to. I don't care if GM agrees with this. I know what the C stands for, and that is all that matters. I don't need or expect that there was ever anything "official", documented, trademarked, or anything else special about the designation, and there doesn't need to be. It can't stand for anything but Corvette, because that is the only thing the designation is used in reference to in our context. Anyone spending more than two seconds anguishing over what or where the "official" designation derives from is wasting valuable time that should be spent sleeping or doing something productive.

So it must bother you if I tell other vette people I had a 67ratrag?

They get it, others overhearing the conversation are clueless.

Once you let that factory original air out of the tires, it's all downhill from there on!

Or, as my mother used to say 'because I said so, that's why'.

Much less typing too.

Why would it bother me what you tell people you have? I'm only concerned with what I tell people I have .

Take care,

Sorry you got butt hurt over my feelings about VERT. Don't take it so seriously. I don't. I just think VERT is stupid. And no...VETTE doesn't bother me in the least.

Relax. It's all gonna be ok. It's just a car forum.

And since the CE in replacement/warranty engines made by Chevrolet mean 'crate engines', it all makes sense.

Or is it 'counter engine'?

No wait, it's 'Chevrolet Engine'.

So it's settled then.

The 'C' in C1, C2 etc. means 'Chevrolet'.
