There is SOOoooo much I have to learn about this year car. Headlight buckets ? Blocks under the hood ? Plastic glove box ? Funky wing nut master cylinder. It'll be fun.

Amazingly, after a 2-1/2 year search for one of these cars I wound up buying this one from Herb; ironically, I had lunch with he and his wife Sharon a few years back right here in Orlando. Who knew he was sitting on stuff like this ? I was so worried about it disappearing out from under me so only a few folks knew about the deal as it unfolded: 62Jeff, rich5962 and Rich Yanulis.

We'll see about Old Town Saturday. I'm gonna do some real short trips for now and wring it out some. Runs great but, as Herb said, it hasn't been driven much and so I don't want any surprises.

Nice score Frankie! Now you'll have to schedule drive time for both cars, but I think the scale will be a little tilted. Dennis

Great catch Frankie. You should enjoy it a lot!
Looks a lot like mine except for the red interor and teak wheel.
There are a lot of one year only special parts and things about the 63.

Happy cruising.

Frank,
Your car looks great.....Congratulations.

As you begin working on it, I would like to give you something to think about.

I have read many of your posts over the years, so I know you are not a "NCRS Guy"

But, this new car looks VERY close to it's original configuration. It may not take too much to bring it back.

You seem to enjoy sorting out the details on your cars.

It may be a whole new way for you to enjoy the hobby

Very nice car, Frank. But your timing is really bad. Love bugs just made their fall appearance the other day over my way so I'm guessing you have them, too.

BTW, when the local LEO came to my house to verify the VIN on my car, the first place he looked was over in the corner of the windshield on the driver's side <LOL>. I had to show him where it was.

Did your LEO radio in a stolen car check on your car? Mine did.

That is awful nice Frankie. Hope it is not too nice to drive.
Welcome to the C2 party. You have one of the best corvettes ever made, and certainly the best ever styled. Mitchell, Shinoda, Brock design is the pinnacle. Great buy!

I think checking the 'hot sheet' for the car's VIN is mandatory.

This is going to be an experience. Took the car up to fill up the tank and you can actually look down into the tank through the filler cap and see the fuel level. And vent windows! What a novel idea.

I'll drop the spare tub tomorrow just to look in it. I don't remember if there is a tire in there or what from the inspection. Figure I ought to know how to lower that down anyway. AIM, Owner's Manual and '63 Corvette Service Manual all arrived today - what timing!

The headlight doors are a little 'lazy' - prob from lack of use. I'll have to work those over before any night time driving so Old Town is prob out for this weekend. Other than that I can't find a thing to fuss about operationally whatsoever. All gauges, radio, wipers, washers, clock, all lights (including BRAKE and LIGHTS dash warning lights), cigarette lighter work as new.

Car has the 3 panel Irving Air Chute seat belts - I swear the more I look the more impressed I am with it.
