No. The only thing you are buying is a block and a vin plate. If they aren't warped or melted.

Since it's a BB. It may turn up at Barrett-Jackson in a yr or two as an original survivor.

is burned to a crisp. I wonder what the story is behind that. I've never seen a car burned more thoroughly. Looks like it may have had a big block in it.

As a charter member of National Corvette Immolation Society (NCIS), I can say that 1966 incinerated hulks aren't quite as desirable as 67's. I think that car is a tad high at $4,550, even though it is a finely charred example.

Those $50,000 knock offs on Craigslist would be a nice addition.......

It should be noted, and is recognized in the NCIS judging manual, that firewall char with characteristic blackish-streaked gray fibers is almost certainly NOS char, and hence this particular hulk can be higher valued

Excellent analysis. There's also a '67 BB car that has also been thoroughly and painstakingly charred. Located here Judging by it being at the same auction location, it would seem that this vehicle suffered its fate aside the previous. Is there any sort of value added for the two vehicles having suffered the same immolation?

Technically no, aside from potential savings in shipping costs. This car presents an interesting valuation challenge though, in that while it is a 67, it is still a project in that there are still items that are recognizable. In particular I would point out the gas tank. Even though uniformly oxidized, it is still there - indicating a serious lack of planning and forethought in the immolation process. Aside from the obvious lack of using a readily available accelerant, no "kaboom" points can be awarded here.

Nice example, but I would keep looking, and would certainly encourage engaging an NCIS member in assisting you in your purchase or planning out your project. A local chapter member can be invaluable in helping plan your incineration as well as optimizing potential claims while limiting unwanted collateral damage.

Serious question: Could one of these be John Hibbeler's?

I can hear the intro now as it rolls onto the stage..............

One of the hottest Big block Mid Year Vettes that ever crossed our stage.............

Mostly stored in a "warm" climate..................

All the original parts have been retained.. (maybe in a lump somewhere)

ROTISSERIREE type restoration..............true indeed at the start of it all almost like a BBQ

No Expense spared in this restoration.... true enough!

Carefully maintained by a First Responder!

Talk of the town!

No car wash brushes... only cleaned with a hose!

Just like it arrived at the plant (foundry)

Only "put out" ONCE!

Pristine Original!!!

***** OK, now add your future comments*************
