Congrats on the car, pretty much built dead between both of mine.

Default Different Combo's

In 1965 my best friend had a '63 split 250 HP with a factory 3 speed. The car was blue with saddle "leather" interior. Kind of a different combo but it worked very well. BTW the 250 3 speed was a handful against my 300 4 speed. Have fun with it and keep it on the road as the General intended.

Welcome, beautiful car! I know how you must feel. Owing a C2 has also been one of my lifelong dreams. JMO but 4 speeds rock!

I once owned a 67 coupe with factory air and a 3 speed.

Bought it from the original owner that ordered it that way.

Beautiful car and welcome to the forum. Two weeks ago, I purchased a 67 coupe through the Forum and felt confident in that a fellow member took time from his schedule to preview the car on my behalf as a neutral third party prior to completing the purchase. ( Shipped from Chicago to Carlsbad, Ca. via enclosed transporter with no regrets upon the car's arrival. ) People here are great and I have always found them to be respectful and helpful with one another. Sunfire yellow looks impressive and I suspect you will enjoy just hanging out with your newly purchased roadster on a regular basis.

Congrats on the “new” ’67!

My Sunfire Yellow, ’67 Convertible also came with a 3-speed. I converted it to a 4-speed several years ago, saving the 3-speed just in case ??? The conversion can be done so that no one will be able to tell. Just follow the AIM – correct linkage, back-up light switch, speedo cable, firewall grommets and shift diagram plate. If you’re interested in any of the details let me know.

Take your time and enjoy it. Over time, I’ve gone through most of the interior, suspension and engine compartment keeping it drivable except for short periods.

Here are before and after pics of the shifter - you might notice the interior has been redone also.

By the way.
Your Car is Stunning!!
Thanks for any Help!T
The transmission swap is actually pretty simple. Fortunately, many of the associated parts are the same – clutch assy, bell housing, drive shaft and yoke, shifter mount, transmission mount, speedo gear, etc. The parts that will require changing if you want it to look original are: shifter, rods, levers, backup light switch, speedo cable, firewall grommets, and console shift pattern plate. You’ll need to install a couple of speedo cable clips (UPC M20, Sheet A4) with pop rivets and the cable routing is different (passenger side).

Start out by looking over the UPC M20 section in the AIM. It shows all the changes and parts required for the optional 4-Speed. Let me know if you have any specific questions.

Great looking car...Congrats! I'd just drive it like it is for a while and enjoy it! You have plently of time to tear into it in the future
You never know...The 3 speed might grow on you and you'll always have something unique to talk about at shows and such!

Congrats on a great looking car. Trust me when I tell you that you will get a lot of comments like, "I love the color of your car.....what was the original color?"
