So glad to hear this!!!!!
I was probably the last guy to see it prior to the theft!
I was all over the Monterey peninsula that weekend. I retraced all of my routes because I thought at first as to where I thought I had seen it and then I wasn't sure, but it had to be at the bed and breakfast place. Just too many cars to remember in that town on such a mega car event weekend!
The unfortunate thing, is that they did not caught them and they are still out there to do it again!!!!!!!!!

I'm sure he'll be along to fill in the blanks. He called a bit before 9:00 this morning to tell me he had it on his trailer but was still with friends in San Jose. The car appears to have been abused and damaged to some extent but, other than the missing top, seems to be complete. He'll get it up on a lift when he gets home and will know more after that. He seems to be about as shocked that he got it back as he was when he realized it was stolen. Knowing him, when all is said and done, it'll be better than ever.

Typical response from a person who doesn't understand the job of law enforcement of a city of nearly 1 million. They have nothing else to do, so they patrol the residential streets looking for a car stolen 75 miles away.
How come the owner of the house where the car was dumped, didn't call San Jose P.D. within 24 hours to report an expensive classic car, that is not familiar to the neighborhood, sitting in front of his house? It takes everyone to solve crime, not just law enforcement.
I'm happy the owner of the car got it back and it appears mostly intact. If he has good classic car insurance, I'm sure he will be made whole again.
