Default 67 Parking light install position

Are the parking lights on my 67 supposed to have the screws for the lens vertical or horizontal I’ve seen it both ways

Mine are horizontal. Original, no hit body, second owner since 1971.

Vertical. One screw on top, one at the bottom. The fattest end of the bezel outward.

Hmm - well, here's a copy of the pertinent page from the factory assembly manual for 1967. This doesn't really clarify things at all, since it appears to show the screw locations canted at a 45* angle from either the horizontal or the vertical...........

All I can definitively tell you is that mine IS a '67, I'm the second owner since 1971, and the body is original - and mine are mounted horizontally.

Perhaps John Z can chime in and help clarify this question.

mine are vertical. my car was painted prior to 1974 when i purchased it, so they were probably removed for painting.

Mine are horizontal, bought it in 1973 and I'm the second owner and no repairs.

The two studs that attach the lamp to the parking light panel with the sheet metal retainer and two nuts are at 3 and 9 o'clock with the thick side of the lamp housing outboard, and the two chrome screws that attach the lens to the parking lamp housing are at 6 and 12 o'clock.

Or you could just do it this way, and you'd be half right. (I fixed it after someone noticed it for me- vertical, as John says.)
