Default 1965- FI- Export

Sorry guys 1st time posting. Car is not for sale, just looking for information on the car and sharing pictures of it.

1965 FI export to South Africa.Looking for any information on this car. Car was sold when new to someone in South Africa per NCRS. Last 2 owners had it for 40 years. Was brought to USA in 1994 when owner moved here. Owner 2 said he was told by 1st owner that General motors had this special paint put on to use in their yearly new car show.It still wears that paint. Original drive train,wheels,window,38,000 miles. Hope someone in South Africa may know this car. NCRS#922

If this car is for sale, you need an asking price.

Wild paint ! Wonder how many hours it took to get that result. Starts with a beautiful canvas.

OK, with no further info Ill assume its not for sale and not really meant for the C2s For Sale classifieds, so Ill move to General. LMK if it needs to be fixed.

I saw it on ebay as well, interesting story. I would NOT want to be rude, but I remember thinking the paint looks like a very well done (at least lovingly executed) '70's job someone is trying to spin a yarn about and not a promotional paint job from '65. I'll be hoping to hear more.

I am only looking for someone that may remember this car in South Africa so I can find more history.I am not trying to fool anyone.I have have been around the block a little, had vettes for 50 years. It was on ebay last year. Two years ago when I was sick I sold it to a good friend. He put it on ebay,he did not sell it although it bid to 99,000. He let me have it back.
I am taking it to a NCRS show this weekend to have their paint expert look at it.I have seen some of GM show cars and some have heavy metal flake paint. I am not making any claims only trying to complete history of the car. We are only caretakers of these neat cars.

Beautiful car Harry, and it couldn't have a better caretaker than you. Good luck with your search for history.

I bet the history IS interesting. I know I have a photo from the auction saved of the car 3/4 angle down low, because I thought the stance was so ideal...

Default 65 export

Just curious, does it have the VIN # stamped on the frame in the engine compartment like Swiss Delivery / Export cars?

Sorry to hear that you were sick. Kind a lost touch since I moved to AZ. Was hoping you could have gotten all the history on the Vette. It is a neat Corvette. Hope you can get some help at Auburn. He dose know Corvette paint. GOOD LUCK.

I had a NCRS member come look at it and he also has a South Africa 65 export coupe. He found the number. I should have marked it and I didnt.

This is my dads car, pictures of it just don't do it justice. My favorite of his cars next to the black fuel car.
