Default Air Conditioning Seal Blew

Had the A/C compressor rebuilt about three years ago for my 64 365HP Coupe. Working very well until last week.

Took it out and the A/C was not working. Looked under the hood today and can see oil spray on the hood from the front of the compressor.

Is there any type of solvent to remove the oil and prevent penetration into the fiberglass?

Also, tried one of those shields but they don't fit the larger A/C pulley for 365HP engine.

Thanks

I would wipe off any oil and use some red spirit or somthing to get the oil off and finish with washing with soap and water

I did not know that the A/C pulley is larger for the 365HP engine?

The L-76 A/C compressor was different, with a larger clutch pulley, to keep compressor rpm at a reasonable level (similar to the hydraulic-lifter engines) with the higher redline of the solid-lifter engine.

Thanks. Covered the engine and sprayed the underside of the good with Simple Green. Will wash it down in the morning.

Talcum Powder will help leach out oil from surfaces. Worth a try. Al W.
