Default Windshield leak

Took out the windshield of the 65 to paint the car. Bought new seal. It was tough putting back in-but it did go in. When I washed the car I am getting a leak at the top of the windshield into the car at the interior molding. Thinking of taking off the stainless and using silicone. My friend said leave the stainless on and put small bead between stainless and paint. Anyone have any suggestions?

Nick the problem with putting a small bead between the stainless and paint is it will look like you put a small bead between the stainless and paint. You will be much more satisfied with the results if you take the stainless off and do it right.
