Default Hubcap keeps flying off

I have had this 61 vette for over 30 years and all of a sudden one of my hubcaps keeps flying off. I never had a issue before. Is there something I can do to tighten it up? I am lucky that I found the hubcap each time, but I'm not fond od crashing it down the street.
Any suggestions would be great.

I have Moon discs--non screw in type-- with the fingers attached. With disc brakes I went to different rims and Moons would fly off. Did a 360 with duck tape on the rims. I did lose one but retaped and none in 25-40,000 miles since. Mel

No, the wheels are the same ones. I have not changed a thing in years. Nothing is different. The wheel covers are the original ones that came with the car. I'm going to get my rubber mallet out and try and figure it out.

Thanks. I might try something like that on my wheels. I don't want to lose one. They are the original ones for the car.

Make sure you don't have a grease coming out of the hub and getting down on those little wheel 'nubs' that hold the hubcaps. Short of that maybe your hubcap is deformed. Its a 'friction fit' so something isn't tight anymore somewhere.

I guess somebody could weld up the 'nubs' on that wheel some to make them hold more aggressively, worst case.

Change the hubcaps around to see if the problem is cured, if it follows the hubcap, or if it is related to a particular wheel.

I thought about that but one result could be the poor fella once again chasing a hubcap down the street...
