Default Wheel Tire Fit

What is the stock wheel and tire size for a C2?

What is the largest wheel and tire that will fit a stock C2?

Thank You in advance

7.75x15 or 195x75r15

That depends on the year of the car (drum/disk), the wheel, and the radial profile

IMO the best way to gauge that would be to ask for wheel and tire information and pictures

I put BF Goodrich 215/70/15 on original k/o wheels on my 65 Coupe. Perfect fit. I think 225 might fit, although some reported slight rubbing when front wheel turned all the way.

The front 215x70 tires on 1967 Corvette rally wheels rubbed my 66 roadster's frame at full lock, until I had the Chevy dealer extend the stops on the lower Aframes to prevent it.

Note that 67 rally wheels are wider than 66 wheels and have a slightly different offset.

I believe the stock 63-66 steel wheel for Corvettes were all 5.5 inches wide. The 67 Rally was 6-inches. The KO wheels were also 6-inches.

'63 and '64 came with 6.70 x 15 tires from the factory. '65-'67s had 7.75 x 15.

Since they didn't come out with the rally wheel until 67 GM must have realized that they needed more tire under the car. Also 65 and 66 had a big block engine.

What does 7.75 equal in today's radial tire?

If you could still buy it, 195/78-15. 195/75 is closest width wise. 205/75 is closest height wise.

Harry

Not sure you can even buy the 195/75 anymore. 7.75 was width in inches. Tires were 27" tall. (edit)

Tires in any of these sizes are becoming tough to find, unless you want to shell out ridiculous top dollar.
