Default Wanna roll your car around in your garage/shop?

So I was stuck with a conundrum in my three car garage as to how to maximize space. I thought I could park my two Camaros as close as possible and still end up with ample space to work on the corvette. Well that was a scary ending as backing my Z28 in close to the wall caused the quarter panel to get dented and scraped.. Fix in work btw.. So I thought about buying those wheel dollies for 140 bucks a pair. But I needed 4 sets, and didn't want to sink that kind of money into them. Went to harbor freight after seeing an add for moving dollies that hold 1000 pounds.. Picked one up and tested it. It hadn't faltered or cracked in any way, under the front of my big block Camaro. One week test.. So this morning I went back and bought 7 more for 71 bucks!! Don't forget your 20% coupon! I have put them on and now I have more than enough room to work on the vette. Easily rolls too..

I am more than positive that they would work for a vehicle weighing under 4000 pounds.. I was absolutely stunned at how awesome this has turned out so I just thought Id pass along the idea..

Thanks for reading..

Cheap and effective as long as you stay within its weight limit. About 4 years ago I bought a set of those metal pans with casters designed specifically for moving cars around. Paid well over $100 for them. They do the job BUT what you linked would DO the job just as well.

Thanks for passing this on!

I have the metal ones similar to the Harbor Freight ones. The wheels could be bigger and I could be more stout. It takes help to roll the car around.

Hopefully the tires won't flatten over time. I have some castors from HF that were great when I installed them, but now have flat spots from sitting in one place for too long.

Funny I tried the small dollies on the front of my 66 BB and it would not budge..just needed to move it over about half a foot..

Maybe using all 4 makes it easier???

Creative minds think alike, must be a Nevada thing.

Mine have a tad less weight on them...........for the moment,

You can't even buy the wheels to build your own for that! Good idea.

Yeah, I don't think it will easily move with two wheels still on the ground.

I've had my C2 on those HF units for over 10 years... no problems. The tires were already poop when I loaded the car on the dollies so that is moot for me. I believe this issue would be true for any dollies regardless... or even sitting on the front lawn.

I purchased "GoJaks" from Snap-On, now being made by other knock offs. The benefit is that ya don't need to use a jack as they have a jack built into them. Cost more but they are like moving on ice.....

Those furniture dollies are exactly what I used to move around my Corvette during the restoration. I have used them on a number of cars with no issues.
