My contribution to the RH mirror mount. Go for it. Like Matt Gruber says, position your mirrors so they are "kicked out" to pick up that blind spot. Ideally your outside mirrors should be adjusted so as cars that are behind you (in your lane) move to your left or right lanes can be seen disappearing from your rear view mirror and immediately start to appear in your outside mirrors. Been driving with this mirror adjustment approach for a number of years now.

My dealer accessory R/S mirror saved me many times in traffic over the last 30 years , even tho many corvette people think I've destroyed my 55 Corvette by adding one. But it's my Corvette not theirs.

The other thing is the "convex" part on BOTH mirrors. I've done a babillion hours of research on side view mirrors before I "committed" to these Bullet mirrors. Having a convex glass on both sides will "open up" the field of vision tremendously, effectively "seeing around" the big fender bulge without having a large and obtrusive mirror head and/or a long and obtrusive mirror stem. The USA lags behind Europe on the "convex on both sides" thang; been that way in Europe and almost EVERYWHERE ELSE in the World since the '70's. Ever ridden a motorcycle? Most of 'em have convex on both sides...
I JUST got in 100mm mirror glasses for these mirrors yesterday; gonna take 'em to the glass shop this week and have the glass installed in the mirrors, then I'll mount 'em up - look for the writeup soon, with pictures!

curb feelers will help prevent banging curbs when parallel parking.

5thvet...I'll be on my way to Pep Boys to check out them curb feelers.
As far as all the pics of the R/H Mirrors...They do look fine to me and are functional. I am so used to using the R/H mirrors in all my other vehicles. They do seem to balance the car IMHO. Hum.... The enthusiast seem rather divided on this issue. So...if there is no differentiate objection...I can seriously consider installing a R/H later ... Thanks Guys!!!!

Me too. Mid years have very obvious visual "cues" and when they are wrong (wrong hood, wrong color stripe tire, sidepipes on wrong years, and RH mirrors), the car just looks wrong.
Its personal. Lots of people do stuff to their car. Dont worry about asking for 2 pages of opinions. Its unlikely you will get a consensus to agree with you.

Well, just try driving a Midyear Coupe on California freeways for a day - go ahead and crane that neck to see if there's a Smart Car in that HUGE right side blind spot - you'll be rethinking the whole "RH Mirror" thang...

I have a problem which prevents me from full neck movement. Not good for driving a C2 coupe. I added one and stuck a fisheye dot on it so I can see what's going on to my right side. I really don't care what the rest of you guys think
Just be sure that if you do it, the mounting spot is further back than on the driver's side.

i wouldn't dick up my car having two side mirrors at different positions (if you want the right one functional that is). Just sayin....

I thought long and hard about adding the RH mirror to my '66 coupe. I listered to all the + and - and decided that I'd do a tape the mirro on before I drilled any holes. Glad I did! I'd only consider this if the mirror could mounted in the same location on both sides of the car so it would look balanced. Well you can't see jack with the mirror in that location.
I decided to pass on the RH mirror. It's your car and you should do what YOU like.

I've never put anyone down for doing anything to their Corvette and don't like people that put me down either ,It's your car not mine so I don't need a yes or no about anything and this is not pointed to your statement ,it's just how I feel about things

Vettebuyer....NOT having a consensus among you experts is a good thing. To me it means...to each their own. I went ahead and ordered an R/H mirror through Corvette America. They actually have a part number for the R/H mirror. I also bought the metal re-enforcement plate that goes inside the door...but they only sell the L/H side. I can make modifications... Thanks guys for all your input!!!!
