Oh and I forgot to mention last year found out it was the pf131, but the dang oil gasket that came with the oil filter was the wrong size. I looked at three different pf131 filters Can you believe that.. The pf131 was the correct size of the filter though

Are you sure of this? I've used PF 131 elements in my 57 Shaker forever and have never heard of a PF 122. Well, till now, that is.....

It's always been my understanding that PF 131 was used in all Passenger and Vette applications in '56 and '57.

The NAPA 1060 Gold has been running on my hi-revving '61 for 8 years now. It's black (not gold) and you can even peel the NAPA label off so its entirely black. Although shorter than the canister; it looks pretty natural up there..

The NAPA 1069 Gold is the 'shorty' version of the 1060; same color and characteristics. Since the adapter already uses a filter that carries less oil than the original canister I personally wouldn't then also use a shorty oil filter.

Use the NAPA 1060 Gold.

The '56-'57 filter/can was longer than the '58-'67. Pf 131 was recommended by Chevrolet for '56-'57. PF 141 for '58-'67.

I found a usage for PF 122. '52-'60 Buick.

About 6 years' now. In my opinion and everyone elses(win 99 percent of the car shows I am in) that the color combo of white silver and red is the best. Love it!!!!

Supposedly both the 131 and 141 fit just one is longer than the other. So I have the wrong one for the car. But its weird that the gasket does not fit. Maybe I need a 141 gasket and 131 filter. Ha. Jeez. Changing the oil should not be this difficult. Ha Ha

What is there about your gasket that doesn't fit? 131-141 gasket is the same thing.

Well since I am doing the maintenance this weekend. What is the preferred anafreeze for a C1?

Heading to the part store tomorow.
