Default Hot Rod Power Tour 2013

Well we're back, 3800 miles, 10 cities in 11 days. Tampa-Eglin-Dallas-Texarkana-Little Rock-Memphis-Birmingham-Chattanooga-Charlotte-Savannah-Tampa. 3600 miles of it top down! Here's a cool shot from my buddy's hangar where we spent one night on the way to Dallas. A few more select photos to follow this weekend..

As always, it was good to meet up with the gang who I never see but once a year on this tour! I think Tom (Sky65) is the only one from our group who frequents this forum.

Mikey - Great looking Vette and I also like those rims, are they Phil Smith's? Also, what size rims/tires?

Great pictures. The bubble top Poncho with the 8 bolt factory wheels gets my vote.

My original goal was to pick tour up in Memphis and go on to Charlottlet.

Didn't make it to Memphis due to brake system and having to next day air parts back and forth to CA twice. Then having them send me a complete new system overnite at their cost.

Made it to Hoover AL and was parked at light pole H there. From 12:30 till 5:30.

Made it to Chattanooga, and there car was parked in Vendor area. Had trouble cranking car due to low battery but did make it to next door neighbors house where we found alternator had only been putting out 12.8 volts. Car can run on that but can't charge battery. Every time car was cranked it pulled battery down a little. Check battery it was good, pulled alternator and had it checked and it checked good. Problem is my one wire alternator has a ground wire also. Ground wire was not grounded proberly.

Fixed that on Friday, but too late to go on to Charlotte.

Did meet one Fourm member at Hoover, and one Pro Touring member there too.

Never saw any of the Vettes with numbers, an I thought I saw all the cars coming in form Memphis. Was sitting in shade right were cars either went left or sort of straight to right to park.

Mikey,

Really enjoyed looking at your Vette! I drove my car from Arlington to Memphis along with my dad in his 62.

Sorry we missed you. We were getting in late and not staying too long at each venue. Thankfully we had sponsor parking passes so we parked right up front in the vendor area. Next year I want to leave earlier and spend more time at the venues. I missed seeing allot of cars. BUT we had a great time running the roads!

Thanks. The wheels are custom offset from Team III Wheels. Usually you only see them on Cobra kit cars, but they look "Halibrand-ish" and are a whole lot cheaper so I used 'em. Mine are 15x7 and 15x9 with 225/60/15 and 255/60/15. Offset trailing arms.

Sorry I missed ya.. I did spot your car in the vendor area in Chattanooga, we actually parked pretty close to the Hot Rod RV every day. I waited around a little bit but didn't see anybody that acted like they owned the car! If the numbers weren't enough to spot us this year, I'll shoot up flares or something next year!

We had our share of "gremlins" to deal with along the way, but all in all we kept 5 cars together for the long haul and that's no small feat!

maybe next year I won't be working on the car every day up until we leave and I'll have more time to figure out who else is going and make plans to link up! I'd like to see 20 C2's or more rolling together at some point on the tour!

Great-looking car with my favorite street tires for almost any vehicle!

Umm, camera problem? In a couple of side-view pics your door looks darker red than the rest of the car?
