It was a great place to be a bidder! Whoever purchased the 58 restomod with the tubular chassis and LS2 motor for $72,000 got an incredible deal. I was running up to bid on it, but was too late.

It was definitely the venue, not the car. The car had a flood of people around it the entire time, but they were mostly spectators. Hey, at least i get to enjoy the car for a little while now! There are a few minor leaks that need to be addressed as well and I never got a chance to send the rear bumpers off for show chrome.
Thanks for the nice comments!

You are very talented for building such a great designed car. I watched the Dallas Mecum auction and had the same thoughts about the 63 that sold cheap. I asked myself "whats the condition".

Did you get rid of the original power brake booster?
I may need one if mine cant be restored.

Do u have a shop? Do this for a living?
Thanks for sharing the build it was very interesting to see.
You'll sell the car and the guy that buys it will just walk-up and pay.

Most of the original parts were long gone when I purchased the car. It had a hyroboost system installed.
I currently do this for a living, but to be honest, it is starting to wear me down and when the rest of the projects I currently have are finished, I will probably start exploring other options. I'm developing bad arthritis and I can't keep on at the current pace.

Thanks for the reply. You've got talent, you can make stuff and make it look cool. I have been developing arthritis in my two thumb joints and shoulders from pushing a wheelchair all my life. I cant hold a wrench tight anymore. I have a 63 I bought in the 80's and never put it on the road.
I drive it around the block a couple times a month with hand controls.
I'm getting the brakes sorted out so I can enjoy it. Good luck, and people with talent always get work. LS

I watched that one as well as yours on the live intenet feed. The chassis and LS2 and most of the mechanicals are close to 72k, so that one had to be a big loss for the seller?

Your car is in another class however, you will find the buyer. THat car down in LA, sitting a Deus ex Machina for a day would be gone gone gone.

The car is just way too nice for you not to get your price.
Good luck with the sale going forward.

Thank you and thanks for reminding me how fortunate I am to only have minor issues, truly!!!
Your car is beautiful! I'm glad you managed to fit it with hand controls! That's awesome!

I can only imagine that the seller of the 58 lost a lot if money. I would have gladly purchased his car for that amount plus some.

Thanks! It looks great in your photos even though it could use one more buff...something I didn't realize till it was under the thousands of fluorescent bulbs.

My dad had hand controls for years on his Toyota Camry its was automatic.

No grand-kids here-not married and never have been, came close.
I bought it in 1989 in LaJolla Ca. and brought it back east. It's been in the garage ever-since. 51'000 miles 300hp p/s p/b p/w automatic. I'd like to find the original owner. It was sold new at Economy Chevrolet in Ca.

I was just trying to take off the brake booster. I un-hooked the brake pedal um on a brake from hanging my head up-side down.
