Default 1965 corvette 396

It's a project but it's a driver it's an American car so how do I know if it's a 396 guy I bought it off said it has heavy duty rad and 80 oil pressure something like that it has it all that a 396 would have the gauges and rad
Is there another way any numbers on the car ?
Thanks

The 396 was only offered in '65 and started midway through the production run approximately after unit 13,000 which would be mid to late February.

Big blocks were offered up to the mid 70's not sure what the last year was.

If you are asking if 396 cars were produced in May '65, the answer is yes. Less than 10% of the Corvettes produced in '65 were 396 cars.
However, there may more than that today.

Well, you haven't given enough information to make that determination. You may be able to conclude that all the tell-tale evidence is there that it began life as a 396 car BUT proving that is another story.
If you want to provide a lot more information, I'm sure people on this forum will help in determining if it's probable the car was/is a 396 car.
Have you already purchased the car? Can you provide VIN (stamp pad) and trim tag photos? That would be the first step.

I guess the old adage of "Fill your library before you fill your garage" is no longer needed?

You will get a lot information here if you post up some pictures of your car. Doesn't really matter at this point if it's a BB car or not if the orginial engine is not in the car.

Let us see the hood, rear end, underhood and dash pictures for starters.
