Default 64 Parking light Question

Having completed the major part of the restoration I am currently working out the final bugs...which leads to my question.
Are the front parking lights supposed to stay on when the headlights are turn on or do they turn off.
The obvious thought is that they ARE to stay on but mine do not and I just want to make sure its not an early year abnormality before I look into other possible SNAFUS
Thanks in advance for your input

No, they are suppose to shut off with the headlights on although a lot of guys rewire it to stay lit with the headlights. Yours are the way they left the factory.

No, but you can make them stay on if you wish.

Seems a bit strange but I thought it possibly might be a stock feature.
Thanks Guys!
