Default C2 Side Pipe Insulators

I would like to try & repair the fiberglass insulators on my 67 side pipe covers. I know these are made from fiberglass but am wondering if the fiberglass contains any heat resistant materials. Anyone have any experience repairing these ?

"JB Weld" works well on the insulators.

Thanks for the reply but I'm wanting to repair the worn and or burn holes in the insulators themselves and want to use the correct materials rather than fix them incorrectly.
